| Organization | The top-level workspace, usually one per company. Contains everything else. |
| Project | One product surface to localize (a site, app, campaign). Holds keys and values. |
| Source language | The language content is authored in (e.g. English). |
| Target language | A language you translate into. |
| Key | A stable identifier for one string, e.g. checkout.placeOrder. |
| Value | The actual text for one key in one language. |
| Key separator | The character (default .) used to display keys as a nested tree. |
| Status | A value’s state: draft, pending review, or approved. |
| Outdated | A flag on a value whose source text changed after it was translated. |
| Draft | A value saved but not finished. |
| Pending review | A proposed value awaiting an approver (approval-required projects). |
| Approved | A reviewed, published value. |
| Proposal | A change saved as pending review rather than published. |
| Plural form | A count-dependent variant of a value (e.g. one / other). |
| Tag | A label on a key for grouping and filtering. |
| Screenshot | An image attached to a key showing where the string appears in the UI. |
| Approval workflow | The per-project gate that routes edits through review before publishing. |
| Approver | Someone who can approve/reject proposals (Org Owner/Admin, Project Admin/Approver). |
| Branch | An isolated copy of a project’s translations that can be merged back into main. |
| Merge | Applying a branch’s changes (new keys, overrides) to main. |
| Diff | The set of differences between a branch and main. |
| History | The full change record of a single value (or term / TM entry), with rollback. |
| Rollback | Restoring a previous version of a value from its history. |
| Activity log | The chronological audit trail of actions on an org/project/glossary/TM. |
| Glossary | A shared list of terms with approved translations and rules. |
| Term | A glossary entry — a word/phrase with rules (do-not-translate, forbidden, notes). |
| Do not translate | A glossary rule: keep the term as-is in all languages. |
| Forbidden term | A glossary rule: a term that must not be used (often with a preferred alternative). |
| Translation Memory (TM) | A store of reusable translated segments. |
| Entry / Segment | A TM unit: a source string and its translations. |
| Fuzzy match | A TM suggestion that’s similar (≥75%) but not identical to the source. |
| QA / Quality checks | Automatic checks (placeholders, markup, terminology) run while translating. |
| AI translation | Drafting translations automatically with an AI model, routed through an AI engine. |
| AI engine | An org-scoped, reusable configuration every AI translation runs through (models, brand voice, instructions, glossary/TM, reviewers). |
| BYOK | ”Bring your own key” — connect your own provider API key; usage is free and unmetered by TextSetu. |
| Credit | Prepaid balance metering AI translation done with TextSetu’s platform provider keys. |
| Team | A named group of people, assignable to projects/orgs to grant access in bulk. |
| Member | A person belonging to an org, project, or team. |
| Role | A named bundle of permissions; a member can hold multiple roles. |
| Member status | A membership’s state: pending, active, or removed. |
| RBAC | Role-based access control — the permission model used at all levels. |
| TMX | Translation Memory eXchange, an industry-standard TM interchange format. |
| XLIFF | XML Localization Interchange File Format, a standard for moving translations between tools. |
